The Certificate of Registration (CR) includes all important information related to the motorcycle and the owner. The Motorcycle CR has 3 different sections called Vehicle Section, Owner Section and Authentication Section.
Here I provide the list of information included in LTO Motorcycle CR (Certificate of Registration) as under.
Vehicle Information Section
- MV File Number — Your motorcycle’s unique LTO record number
- Plate Number — The official plate assigned to your motorcycle
- Vehicle Type — Motorcycle/Tricycle (or Car, UV, Bus, Truck, Trailer)
- Vehicle Classification — Private, For Hire, Government, or Exempt
- Vehicle Category (PNS) — Philippine National Standard Category (e.g., L1 for two-wheeled motorcycle up to 50cc, L3 for two-wheeled motorcycle over 50cc)
- Make — Brand (e.g., Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki)
- Series/Model — Specific model name (e.g., Click 125i, Mio i125, Barako II)
- Engine Number — Unique number stamped on the engine block
- Chassis Number — Vehicle Identification Number stamped on the frame
- Fuel Type — Gasoline, Diesel, Electric, or Hybrid
- Engine Displacement (cc) — Engine size in cubic centimeters
- Number of Cylinders — Engine cylinder count
- Gross Weight / Net Weight — Used by LTO for fee computation and classification
- Body Color — Official color on record
- Year Model — Year the motorcycle was manufactured
- Year Rebuilt — For rebuilt vehicles only
- Max Power (kW) — For electric vehicles only
- Date of Registration — When the motorcycle was officially registered
- Registration Validity — Expiry date of the current registration
Vehicle Owner Information Section
- Full Name — Registered owner’s legal name
- Address — Registered owner’s address on file with the LTO
- LTO Client Number — Your unique identifier in the LTO system
Authentication Section
- Signature of the LTO Assistant Secretary (or authorized signatory)
- LTO official dry seal
When to Renew My Motorcycle CR
Your Motorcycle CR does not require any renewal. The LTO releases the CR (Certificate of Registration) for a vehicle only one time. The LTO strictly advises the owner to keep their CR and OR with them when driving their motorcycle.
As per LTO Rules, you need to renew your motorcycle registration every year. After the renewal, the LTO will issue a New Official Receipt (OR) as a proof of renewal but the CR is not issued again. The CR issued on first registration remains the same for lifetime.
Motorcycle CR Validity
Your Motorcycle CR is valid for lifetime. When you receive your CR after initial registration of the new motorcycle, it comes with the lifetime validity.
As long as you own the motorcycle, you need to keep the same CR with you when riding the motorcycle. Your CR works as a proof of ownership and registration.
What If My Motorcycle CR is Lost?
If your motorcycle CR is lost, you must apply for a Duplicate CR to the LTO. Before going to LTO Office, make sure that you have created an Affidavit of Loss of CR and gathers all required documents to apply for a Duplicate CR from the Land Transportation Office.
Please carry your motorcycle to the LTO Office as the authorities will check the motorcycle chassis number, plate number and other details to verify that the motorcycle is yours and then the LTO will process your request for a Duplicate CR.

What is Temporary CR?
The Temporary CR is a new term added by LTO in 2026. In February 2026, the LTO faced a shortage of security paper in the National Printing Office. Due to the shortage, the LTO was unable to print New Certificate of Registration (CR) on its authentic security paper.
As a result, the LTO Authority decided to issue a Temporary CR to every new vehicle owner. The Temporary CR is printed on an A4 Bond Paper, it is equally valid as the Original CR.
As a motorcycle owner, if you have received a Temporary CR from LTO, you can use it as a valid document for all legal purposes until the Original CR is printed on the security and you receive it.
